As soon as someone tries to tell me that a colour blind man can't create art, I'll tell them that a deaf guy can't write music.

Thanks. I really like experimenting with the focal plane. :)

How can a 4.8 F-number give a so shallow DOF ?

With this lens, this is quite typical. It's a 60mm 1:2.8 micro nikkor. I get quite shallow dof with anything 5.6 or wider.

My lens doesn't "react" like this at all, that's very interesting.

If you look through my gallery, you'll see lots of examples of this. What lens are you using?

Is that a macro lens? I'm not a technical expert by any means. I just shoot and see what happens and learn for next time.

I wonder if it's a difference of the lens specs, the make, and/or the way the lens is being used. When I shot this, I was maybe just 5 cm from the subject.
